MEET THE FOUNDER
The name ‘Panta Lesco’ is a historical legacy which portrays the character of the group’s founder Bartholomew Attard (known to family and friends as Barth). In fact, the very first shop leased by Barth was previously tenanted by the late Domenic Pantalleresco – who had lent his surname to that same shop. However, when Barth acquired the lease, the three middle letters ‘ler’ had fallen off from the shop’s commercial signage. Barth chose to preserve the resulting identity and Panta Lesco is now a household name for engineered building services contracting both locally and overseas.
Known for his boundless creativity and excellent work ethic, Barth Attard (1926-2009) founded Panta Lesco Ltd. in 1960 and the company grew and prospered under his guidance.
Barth Attard remains an exemplary figure for the Group. In December 2009, he was posthumously awarded the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award by the Malta Chamber of Engineers for his contribution “not only to the Maltese economy and society in general by introducing state of the art products and technology to the island, but also through the significant employment of members of the engineering community.” The award was received on his behalf by his son and current chairman of the Group, Henry Attard.

On behalf of the directors of our group companies, I would like to thank our clients for the support and loyalty they have shown Panta Lesco throughout our 50 successful years in business.
As for the future, we shall certainly be striving to strengthen our client relationships and, as we seek new opportunities in this challenging economic climate, to establish and develop new ones.
The future of Panta Lesco hinges on our ability to maintain our position as market leaders across all our business lines. We aim to maximise our years of experience and intellectual goodwill, and we must continue to bring these to bear on each and every project undertaken so as to ensure that our deliverables consistently meet the highest possible standards. We must retain our sensitivity and our ability to adapt to rapidly changing market conditions and remain open to new business opportunities, whether in Malta or overseas.
Above all, we recognise that our real strength lies in our team of experienced, motivated and committed individuals and, as such, we shall continue to invest in our people.
I am proud of our heritage and I am confident that, going forward, we will achieve continuing growth and success so as to secure the future of this business which features prominently in Malta’s enterprising history.
